Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center Trip Highlights
On Wednesday, April 17th students enrolled in 10th Grade Global classes enjoyed the opportunity to visit the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center in Glen Cove to tour the facility and hear testimony from a Holocaust survivor. The trip served as a culminating experience for the students who recently completed their analysis of the Holocaust as part of their unit on the World Wars.
The tour provided a powerful and emotional experience, allowing our students to extend their learning beyond the classroom to further examine the devastating impact of the Holocaust and the lessons that can be learned from it. The exhibit featured seven galleries that take you on a journey through history, from life before the Holocaust to its aftermath and the valuable lessons we can learn from it. Each gallery created an immersive experience, with artifacts, photographs, and documents that brought the stories of those affected by the Holocaust to life. The tour was guided by knowledgeable docents who answered any questions and provided additional insight into the exhibits.
