Congratulations to Robotics Team 870
Congratulations to Robotics Team 870 for an outstanding performance at the Long Island Regional competition held at Hofstra University this past Saturday. Competing against 48 highly skilled teams, Team 870 delivered an exceptional showing, finishing the qualification rounds with an impressive 8-1-0 record and securing 2nd place overall.
Their strong performance and teamwork earned them the honor of being selected by the top-seeded team to form a playoff alliance—an achievement that speaks volumes about their skill, strategy, and reputation among competitors. Together, the alliance went on to achieve the highest score of the entire event, an incredible 501 points, showcasing the team’s innovation, precision, and dedication.
As a result of this remarkable accomplishment, Team 870 has qualified for the FIRST Robotics World Championship, which will take place in Houston, Texas from April 29 through May 2, 2026. This prestigious event brings together the best teams from around the world, and Team 870 will represent our district on an international stage.
This achievement reflects not only the talent and hard work of our student team members, but also the commitment of their mentors, advisors, and supporters. The entire district is immensely proud of their success and the way they continue to inspire excellence in STEM education.
