Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are happy to announce that the United States Department of Agriculture has extended a program allowing us to offer breakfast and lunch to all Greenport UFSD students at no charge.
All students will be allowed a breakfast and a lunch, each day, at no cost through June 30, 2028.
As such, NO MONEY IS NEEDED FOR BREAKFAST AND LUNCH FROM PARENTS.
Additionally, it is important to complete and return the attached Free and Reduced Meal Application that was also previously sent with your Welcome Packet if you fall into the income category based on the size of your household listed in the Income Eligibility Guidelines Chart. This is due by September 17 each year and can be dropped off at the front office, mailed in, or sent in with your child. It is extremely important to complete and return this application to us so that we may continue to be eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch for all students here at Greenport.
Parents may continue to send money in with their children or place money in their “MySchoolBucks” accounts to use for purchasing additional items such as snacks and milk. There is a link on our website which will enable you to use a credit card to place money onto your child’s personal account. Go to “District” then to “Food Service” then to “MySchoolBucks.”
Please call the Business Office with any questions at 631-477-1950 extension 1205. Again, thank you for your attention in completing and returning the attached Free and Reduced Meal Application so we can continue to provide this at no charge to all families.
Yours very truly,
Dr. Philip Kenter

Committee on Special Education
Greenport UFSD provides special education services and programs for students with disabilities pursuant to applicable federal and state laws. Any parent or person in parental relation who suspects that their child has a disability may refer the child for an evaluation by the district’s Committee on Special Education (CSE) for eligibility for special education services and programs. More detailed information on this process is available in A Parent’s Guide to Special Education, which is published on the New York State Education Department’s website in English and Spanish.
Parents and persons in parental relation should contact the district’s Office of Special Education if they suspect that their child has a disability.
Child Find
Child Find refers to the process of locating, identifying, and evaluating children and youth who may be eligible for special education services designed to meet their educational needs at no cost to families. Children and youth, ages birth to 21, living in the Greenport UFSD, who are suspected of having a disability may be referred for a possible evaluation to determine if they are eligible for special education services. This includes children and youth who are experiencing homelessness, highly mobile, migrant, wards of the state and children and youth attending private schools located within Greenport UFSD boundaries, regardless of where they reside. All other children must live in the Greenport UFSD attendance area.
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
The Greenport UFSD hereby gives notice that it does not discriminate on the basis of handicap in violation of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The district further gives notice that it does not discriminate on the basis of disability in admission or access to its programs and activities, including vocational programs. No person shall be denied employment solely because of any physical, mental, or medical impairment which is unrelated to the person’s ability to engage in the activities on the job for which application has been made. The secondary vocational education opportunities available to district residents under age 21 are referred to in the handbook and curriculum guides prepared by the high school.
