The Board Minutes & Agendas is updated by Debra Abruzzo in our main office.   Her posts are the official agenda and minutes for each board meeting.  Old agendas are available. 

The Superientndent's Newsletter is written by Mr. Comanda.  The latest version is available.

Lunch applications are provided to those district residents who want to participate in the "Family free and reduced price school Meals" program.  Mrs. Diana Duell inthe business office coordinates this program.

Mr. Gulluscio, our athletic director, updates this page when there is new information to share with parents and students.  You will see the date the information was changed at the top of the page.  That way you know you are getting the latest information.

At the bottom of this page there is always a link to the Section XI website.  All sport schedules are available there.

High School Page

If the information goes home with a student, we like to share it on our high school page.  Mrs. Christine Harrison in the high school office posts all the announcements that are broadcast to our students  on the website.  Daily Announcements is our most visited section of the website.

The High school page also has student handbooks, curriculum guides, exam schedules, the Internet Use guide and study guides.

To get to the High school page, choose Schools->High School on the main menu.

Calendarscalendar

Calendars can all be found on the Calendar Tab at the top of the website.  On that page you'll find an activities calender printed each month by Mrs. Dinizio.  The activities calendar  has a listing of activities for the month.  This calender is posted on the website at the beginning of each month.  We also publish a Year-at a glance calendar.

DECA Students Win

Greenport Students are Victorious at

DECA Competition

On January 4th, 2012 ,  Greenport Student traveled to Suffolk Community College in Selden to compete in the regional DECA competition.  Eight of the students who competed returned with awards.

Advisors to the DECA club  are Martha Tuthill, Kim Cronin with parent volunteer Yvonne Lieblein.

 

4th and 5th Grade Explores Native Peoples of the Eastern Woodlands

On Friday, October 15th, the fourth and fifth graders at Greenport School were treated to an interactive educational program.  The organization "Journeys Into American Indian Territory" brought their program into Greenport School.

The students learned native songs and dance.  The students gathered in groups to play traditional woodland games.  There was museum set up on in the district's auditorium where the students walked through a longhouse.

Greenport Elementary Named Blue Ribbon School

Greenport Elementary School is among 304 schools nationwide identified Thursday by U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan as a 2010 National Blue Ribbon Schools.   Greenport will be honored in November in Washington, D.C.

Greenport and Glen Cove are the only districts on Long Island to receive this honor.  Newsday reported on the award in their September 9th issue.  Read the article online here .
